We have our permits, nothing can stop us now! Wait… what? Really?

We got our permits approved and picked them up. The project is moving forward! Of course we have to pay attention to the concerns mandated by the city and state, so additional signage and disinfectants had to be put into place before we could start.

On a deep dive into the plans we found something that was amiss, so we are making field adjustments on the drawings to make sure we get the right structural information and design. We had to send these back to draft and engineer to make the correction. This could slow things down, so moving quickly is paramount. So far so good, engineer is on it. We have to get this correction stamped.

The power cables had been cut earlier, so we had to put in a temporary fix.  This fix has since been further improved by our electrician later the same afternoon.  I can’t tell you how much I appreciate my Construction Manager, Norm.  25 years in construction, he is a wealth of knowledge.

Sheet rock is coming down, while I’d like to save what I can, I made an executive decision to pull it all.  The smell of cigarette smoke, etc, cannot linger.  Floors are out too.

We are moving at a good clip. I think the pent up energy of everyone ready to start is going to help.

The General Contractor is getting the framing in place, for the plumbers to know where to put the pipes. Next, the electrician is scheduled in a few days to start their rough in. While we wait on the city stamp, we will focus efforts into the new garage and fence replacement as well as the landscaping.
